<p>An avid lifelong sailor, Steve joined Y-? ? er e? iencing ? roke? eral years ago. This year he co? ed in the 33rd annual Ticonderoga Race, which sails much of the length of Lake George. Steve shares his experience b? ? /><br />The who? ? of the ? ace is amusing. As you ? , I race when I ? acing. Jon, the ski? of the tri-maran told me ahead ? ime that th? ereo? working. When ? rive? the? tage whe? hey were all staying, I was offered bacon and eggs.<br />The start at Yankee Yachts was scheduled for 9:30. I kept asking if we shouldn't be getting ready to leave. ? ? ured me ? ould mak? since Yankee was only 2 miles away.? boardi? ime ? loaded ? ybody an? ? then that I? covered ? their dog was also coming along for the ride!..... On the ? ace???? Jon was capable of single handling the boat. He knew his ? ? ide and out. Be? ? or not, I helme? ch of the do? ind leg (a SW wind) and som? wind as well. We ran th? innaker ? of the way executing many gybes. ? ? ? rprised ? I could handle the ? . I would say, I helmed about 1/4 ? ? ace, an exhilarating? erience! Durine ra? e made a 360 to pick up katl? (age 7) pin? andal. We made ? her 360 ? ick ? ? ife's cap. I was going a bit nutz,? I kept ? ? self? ? good for me? h?) We ? ried? ery sophisticated GPS. We knew our heading relative to the? k, o? elocity, the? th a? ? elocity made goo? elocity ? the mark). I go? ? u the na? s (faste? oute? st b? ? he evening d? ums.? r co? ition was on? heels (winning by a large marg? ince we owed them about 1 1/2 hours). They ? becalmed in the na? s while ? ailed home at about 10-11 k? WOW? /><br />We won by a? 1 1/2 mins.? ? ed. Thedal and cap ? ? didn't ? ? ? ? ery much? /><br /? hink my ? ? ation acted as an appropriate e? ure for Y-KNOT. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!</p>
